LABX: LONDON AMATEUR BREWER'S 10TH BIRTHDAY
at MASON & COMPANY, HACKNEY WICK
This project celebrates the ten-year anniversary of London Amateur Brewers with four collaboration brews. Current LAB members collaborated with ex-LAB members - Evin O’Riordain at The Kernel Brewery, Bryan Spooner at Weird Beard Brew Co., Andy Parker at Elusive Brewing and Darren Oakley at Rockhopper Brewing - to design and brew beers that reflect the bold and eclectic history of brewing in London, and at London Amateur Brewers in particular. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to help us celebrate on Thursday 9th November at Mason & Company!
In many ways the beer world is a young world. Heavyweights like Camden, Beavertown, Five Points and Redemption aren’t even seven years old, and venerable old hands like Meantime have only been going seventeen years, so milestones like ten year anniversaries are significant events.
A decade is even more significant, though, if you’ve been as quietly influential as London Amateur Brewers. With a well-deserved reputation for education, incisive analysis and relentless focus on quality, LAB has been a constant, but often unnoticed, driver behind the vast expansion of excellent London beer. This influence can not only be readily seen in the superb standard of prize-winning beers submitted by members to national and international competitions, but in the work done by ex-members, who have gone on to found breweries making some of the most celebrated beer in London.

Urban Farmhouse is now creating some of the best sour beers in the UK and we are honoured that James will be attending Brew Con London, along with fellow brewer Jack Dobbie, to give us a talk on mixed fermentation, wild ales and brewing... with your feet!
